La Borinqueña made her superhero debut last Wednesday night at the Center for Puerto Rican Studies in Hunter College. Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, creator of La Borinqueña, collaborated with Centro for the art exhibit “Café Con Comics”.
I was diagnosed with asthma when I was a month old. Mami explained I had developed pneumonia and from there had trouble breathing. Asthma is genetic on Mami’s side of the family, but the surprise to her was how young I got diagnosed with it.
Our final days in Florida were bittersweet. I spent more time with my family and went out to different places.
Although Universal Studios is smaller than Islands of Adventure, there were more attractions in this park. We got to visit various worlds on the way to Kings Cross Station.
Three straight days in different theme parks can drain the energy out of anyone. Gil, Alondra, and I gave ourselves a much-needed day of rest with my family.
Walt Disney World—A place full of magic, memorable characters, and where childhood memories stay with you forever. Alondra and Gil enjoyed their first time with Mickey Mouse and friends.
Before you bash me for being a hypocrite about going to SeaWorld, let me tell you how I took the opportunity to do some investigative reporting and see the damage for myself.
