BRONX, NY- The king of Marvel soundtracks has arrived as Kendrick Lamar put all his production skills to the test for Black Panther. I have not had this much fun listening to a Marvel soundtrack since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and Iron Man 2. Both of those albums were compilations compared to Black Panther, which has original songs. With the highly anticipated film just days away from its premiere, the album satisfies the wait with genres of Hip Hop, Rap, and R&B blended with African rhythms.
Artists who contributed their talents to the soundtrack include SZA, The Weekend, 2 Chainz, Jorja Smith, Khalid, Future, James Blake, Zacari, Anderson Paak, and more. Kendrick makes vocal cameos within each track, adding originality to the production. Rapid-fire verses, melodic chorus, and elemental instrumentals ties the whole project together. Marvel made the right move in having Kendrick curate the project, as Black Panther as already broken box office records in presales alone. Who better than Kendrick to add the groundbreaking music needed for the film?
“All The Stars”, Kendrick and SZA’s track in Black Panther, has already gathered more than eight-million views on YouTube. I don’t want to give anything else away so you can experience the album for yourselves. I am looking forward to hearing how the soundtrack is incorporated into the movie.
Black Panther will be released in theaters February 16th, 2018. The album is now available.
